Devobama

Since I know I have at least one reader in Ohio, and many Devo fan readers, I have to point to this performance by Devo at the Acron Civic tomorrow to raise money for the Obama campaign.

Amanda Marcotte at Pandagon calls this “further evidence of Devo's infinite coolness,” and who am I to argue?

I have a confession to make. My uncle was Rex Humbard, of early televangical fame (or infamy, as it may be). His son, Don Humbard, married my mom's sister and their three daughters were some of my closest playmates growing up. They lived across the street from the Mothersbaughs and I remember then (DEVO) practicing out in the garage/driveway and my aunt/uncle yelling across the street to "keep it down."

So yes...Akron *has* produced some stellar talent...just seems you have to escape Akron for it to be recognized. (Something I've not yet been able to do!)

Can't wait for tonights show! WE ARE DEVO...D-E-V-O!!!

Everyone get your red-pot hats out!

Great show last night in Akron. We've setup a site to share the experience with others: www.devobama.com
