One important note is that the "Irish slavery" mentioned early in the article is now well known to be an ahistorical falsehood that has actually been weaponized by racists. No doubt the author included it in good faith, but it's been thoroughly debunked. There were some Irish deported to the Caribbean, and they may have included pagans whose practices informed the development of Haitian voodoo, but the numbers and facts are better understood now than they were when this was written so I thought it was worth mentioning. If anyone is interested in this I suggest looking up the work of Liam Hogan.

I don't think this changes the meaning or diminishes the import of the article in any way. It's a great piece of work and I appreciate it.Mr. Completelyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08915209342037285807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6216910.post-91165210675033729832009-12-10T23:28:57.190-08:002009-12-10T23:28:57.190-08:00Thank you, thank you so dearly, for putting this a...Thank you, thank you so dearly, for putting this article out there, in its entirety!
AnnasidduriXhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14813564934614297768noreply@blogger.com
